The first was held on March 17, 1762, 14 years before the U.S. Declaration of Independence was signed. The parade is held on the same day as St. Patrick’s Day. The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. ET on 5th Avenue at 44th Street and end on 79th Street at around 3 p.m. In 1762, New York held its first St. Patrick’s Day parade.
